I am looking for a way to test cpus and motherboards. I know there are devices to do that. Can you help?

there are devices like that but they are usually exclusively for sellers and cost thousands of dollars.

I bought a motherboard (and by default) CPU tester years ago (back in 486 days.) It's an ISA card with diagnostic LED's and numerical display. It worked very well for this type of board. All you needed was a motherboard (obviously) CPU, RAM and a vid card (though they had a 'dummy' vid card you could put in an VL-bus slot) so you could rule vid card problems out. It cost $450.00 back in 95 or 96. I haven't used it in years. (I can't even say it paid for itself!) I imagine anything like that now would be very expensive. Probably more than the cost of replacing the mobo and cpu a few times over. Good Luck! :)

I had one of those when I worked in a shop years ago... Came in a tech's pouch with loopback plugs, right? That thing was outrageously expensive for what it was... But it *did* work.

Of course, the best mb tester is (drum roll please...) another KNOWN GOOD one to swap parts with. LoL
