cpu and memory clock speed issues

I'm using everest's CPUID tool, and it's showing my 'cpu clock as 2000MHZ.
My cpu is an E6750.

Not sure what cpu clock really means, but my cpu is supposed to be a dual core 2.66ghz and says so in the name. Core voltage is at 1.20 or so as well.

Additionally, it's showing my memory clock at 400mhz, and timings at 5-5-5-15 even though this is my ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...p?Item=N82E16820227124 (4 gigs of it)

I just put this computer together. It's using the gigabyte ds3r mobo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/...p?Item=N82E16813128050

I left all things to default for most part.

if anyone could please tell me how to resolve these issues, that'd be great.
thanks

no issues mate, you probably have some speedsaving options enabled, like eist and speedstep or something like that. Since your cpu isn't being used, the multiplier gets lowered from 8 to 6, so it runs at 2ghz when it's idle, saving energy. For 2.66ghz it will probably run at 1.3-1.35v. Simply try running something cpu intensive like TAT or Orthos, and you will notice everest reporting new figures :)

As for your ram, the modules seem to have timings of CL 5-5-5-12, I'm guessing your mobo runs them at 5-5-5-15 though. The reviews on newegg say it can run at 4-4-4-12 at 2.1v. If you care, you could manually set the timings to either 5-5-5-12, which they should run at no problem, or to 4-4-4-12 which might need some extra vram, up to 2.1v. But the performance gain will be negligible, so might as well leave it at that ^^

just curious, why would there be no noticeable performance gain from my timings to 4-4-4-12 or what not?
Also, can you please tell me how to adjust timings? I dont have any experience overclocking ram or what not.

Also, I noticed this, because in the benchmark tests on everest, a 6700 was doing better than me in alot of the tests heh. Not sure why.

Also, what about the ram clock speed though. Shouldnt it be set to 800 instead of 400?
