How do you guys normally clean a used CPU and HSF? Do you use a lint-free gauze pad and strong rubbing alcohol (95%)?

I don't want to wait for an order or Arctic Cleaner to come in and the only real computer store (a Microcenter) in my area is about 20 miles across town.

I've used Q-tips and 90%. Yes, it may not add that extra .01c/cm^3 or whatever, but its easy and makes me feel good. Yeah and let it air dry. Blow on it to speed up evaporation and you introduce moisture and impurities, let it air dry and you only introduce impurities.
Im sure arctic cleaner does add that .01c/CM^3 though, but those are the same people that buy DDR2-8bazillion though cause they want 2-2-2 ram timings, oh and they pWnzor 3 RaptorX's in Raid0 too!

Coffee filters work better than Q-tips for cleaning your IHS and HSF. Cheap and lint-free.

I use "skin cleansing alcohol wipes", they're saturated with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Got a box of 200 in my desk draw. They were pretty cheap too.
