cpu and chipset ?

I want to buy new coputer and i mixed up between intel and amd.
the intel 560 with asus p5ad2 or amd fx 53 with msi k8n neo2.

at the past via or nvidia had lots of problebs with the os. system hanging, slow hd ets....
but with the intel chipset it was perfect with the os.

so the 560 i slow then the fx 53 but is it in the overall beter system?

and help me what to buy.(i dont care about the 64bit).

you never specified what your PC is going to be used for, gaming? video editing? I would say get the FX53, you should care about 64bit as pretty soon it'll be the only way to go
