OK, I post this once with no replies, so I'll post it again.
I have a computer with a ZX motherboard, meaning that it is socket 1. The Pentium 3 chip I have is a long, bulky one, which I think is the Katmai. I've heard of Cpu adaptors which allows you to use a Coppermine on these socket 1 motherboard. Anybody know where to get them?:)

Slot 1 or Socket 370?

Perhaps the wording of your post does not make it immediately obvious which one you have. You have a Slot 1 processor from the description.

You need what is known as a "Slotket". However, you may not be able to upgrade to a Coppermine processor without proper motherboard support.

Please post what brand/model motherboard you have.

As Andy pointed out, there's no such thing as Socket 1. Your ZX board would either be Socket 370 or Slot 1. Just to clarify, socket means a small, square thing that a cpu plugs into. The cpu is small, very thin, and has pins sticking out of the bottom. A slot processor looks a little like a Nintendo cartridge. There are no pins, just a long row of contacts that plug into the slot.

From your post, I'm guessing that you have a slot 1 processor and a socket 370 motherboard. There are no adapters that will make that work, if I'm correct about what you've got. There are, however, adapters that allow you to use a socket 370 processor in a slot 1 board.
