COX's new network trouble

Hi all,

how do I set up the new COX network (merging from @home) using a router?
I set the router to obtain the info dynamically (dynamic IP) and it can't reconfigure the settings.
I'm using the SMZ 7004BR

Thanks

if the router is not obtain and IP# and this was working went you are connected right to the computer you have to use the Mac cloning on the router put in the mac# of the Nic card into the router . I'm not sure what os you are running but in XP go to the run type in cmd hit enter then type in ipconfig/all to get the mac in 98 you go to the run and type in winipcfg.

I just went throught the same deal. I had to clone the Mac address to my router. First I had to directly connect a PC to the modem then install all thier software. It took some time for everything to go through. I'd say about 15 minutes to half an hour. Not sure really I gave up and walked away. When I came back it was working. Then I reconnected the router cloned the Mac address from the PC. I had to do this twice because the first time when I saved the address it changed the end digits. The second time it stayed. So far its been working, I just hate that now the IP renews every 4 hours, and I have yet to get the same address twice.
Good Luck,
Daz
