Cox Twin Engine RC Plane w/charger and transmitter 99.96

Well the price is certainly right. And the picture of the plane is impressive. Anybody have any input, pro or con, on this baby?🙂

From what I know of model planes is that they come in anywhere from 2 to 6 or even 8 channels of control. I'd assume this plane would be the 2 channel version. Typically 2 channel electric planes simply have up and down and left and right control and the engine runs at 1 speed and must be thrown into the air. This plane stats you control the engine speed. If so then it would only give you left and right control and I don't understand how you'd control up or down. If anyone has any clarification on this matter I'm interested to know. Thanks

Control the plane's direction by changing the speed of the electric motors
Includes flight command transmitter, 6-volt rechargeable flight battery and 15-minute charger that operates from a car's lighter jack
Also includes glue
Wingspan is 32 inches
Transmitter uses 9-volt transistor battery (not included)
Some assembly required
For ages 12 and up

The glue is for when you crack this hack job up trying to land it...Not to crap on your post tho JokerSmoker - I just got a laugh out of the prod description!

"Control the plane's direction by changing the speed of the electric motors"

my guess would be you get up down control and then turn by increasing or decreasing left/right engine speed
i dunno about that but.

i like the Firebird II RTF R/C Airplane.

comes ready to fly and has better controls. mine is in the mail as we speak.

Upon further reading about that plane. It looks as though to me that maybe one controller stick controls each motor, similar to driving a tank with tracks. Maybe thatis wrong. I went to the link posted at the bottom of the thread and I can't figure out exactly what you are getting for 100 dollars. Is it a comparable plane with the radio and battery and charger for the 99.99 price? Below it is a 149.99 price on possibly something different. I can not tell. Any help appreciated

i think in this one you can only control the speed of the individual motors. So to go up, you add juice. To go down you ease the throttle. Same way to go left or right, you just sop the particular engine

the 149.99 price is for the FIREBIRD XL RTF, the high-end model of the FIREBIRD II. i ordered from a different website that had more info and a better deal (included the second wing and landing gear), can't seem to find it though. if i do i will post the link.

Are you saying for the 99.99 on that second link that there is no landing gear? How would you land the plane without crashing it? If you find the other link I'd be interested to know more about it. thanks
