A friend of mine can't get a hold of the e-mail settings for his internet. He has Cox Communications as his ISP in Hampton Roads, VA or in that area.

Can someone post the server, port, etc information required for e-mail. I tried to get the info from their support page, but it has ASP errors and won't load...

POP3 mailserver. No need for any non-standard port settings. No need for any SSL settings.

Outgoing mailserver: smtp.east.cox.net
Incoming mailserver: pop.east.cox.net

Or, you can use their .west. mail servers.

It wouldn't hurt to select "My server requires authentication", but I'm not positive it's required.

Your account name is just your email address WITHOUT the "@cox.net" part.

There's also a webmail site at http://webmail.cox.net
