Can you use your own Cable modem with Cox's service?

Also, anyone have any experience with their Digital Telephone service?

If they charge you to use the modem then yes you can use your own and get the rental fee taken off.

There is a law that covers this, that is why you can own your own phone or cable box etc...

you definitely can use your own cable modem because i've lived in a Cox area before and used my own. as for the digital telephone service, i don't know how good it's getting now but i would stay away from it. even though they said that their telephone service is on a separate network, once both their cable modem service and cable telephone service went down. i tried to call them... but i had to borrow my neighbor's phone to do so.

Call and ask them.

Also ask them if you'll receive a savings if you use your own cable modem. Some companies reduce bill by $5 - $10 per month if you use your own cable modem.

The Motorola SB4100 seems to be the best bet.
