sure people are meant to be eaten. however, evolution had placed a rather capable brain in our heads (well, some of us) and consequently we are at the top of the food chain so not that many animals can eat us. it's the same thing in all aspects of nature.

Well, it's not like humans have never been eaten by other animals. We've just used our technology to climb to the top of the food chain, and we don't need to worry as much about being eaten by other animals.
