reading in the toilet provides a good excuse to get away from work for a few minutes. I don't have the time to do it in my current job (free time to run to the bathroom is seldom in itself, and usually involves me literally running there and back), but in college, just about any personal reading that I did was done in the bathroom (anywehere else, I'd feel guilty for not reading school-related materials).

Exactly. My boss has a habit of leaving magazines in the bathroom (No, not that kind of magazine), so I'll flip through them while dropping the kids off at the pool. I keep a few old magazines on the back of the john at home as well for that same purpose.
