He suffers from allergies and apparently on the way to work today started to have more difficulty breathing than normal. At times he said he had to struggle to get a breath. So of course he was freaked out and stopped at the hospital where they gave him a few puffs on a inhaler. He seemed a bit freaked out and went home for the day, his allergies were REALLY acting up as well. I know you can develop asthma out of the blue but that really would be scary as shit to suddenly realize you were gasping for air.

Was a little surprised they didn't give min a small inhaler to take with him. But I guess that would be also dangerous without a proper diagnosis from his family doctor.

Same thing happened to me in my late 20s. I never had asthma growing up and was a distance runner and opera singer so my lungs were very well developed. When I was working in Tulsa Oklahoma something about the combination of allergens there triggered asthma.

I to this day have allergy/asthma problems.

Did you have an actual attack like this guy did or was it more general breathing problems that were later diagnosed as asthma?

That happened to me after a run once... nothing will get you more panicked than realizing that you are having trouble breathing which makes things worse. I took my wifes inhaler she has for asthma and felt better. I think it was due to all the pollen in the air when I went for a run. Luckily it never happened again.

I don't think you know what a breathalyzer is...

Yeah I think inhaler, or maybe puffer is the term you're looking for. I remember having some asthma problems when I was a kid, but luckily I grew out of it.
