Interesting...linebacker isn't exactly a position of weakness for Dallas. Granted, Akin Ayodele wasn't spectacular last year, they have some competant backups in Carpenter and Burnett that I would have liked to see get more playing time. I was never a huge fan of Ayodele though, so I won't be upset to see him released/traded. Granted Thomas is past his prime, but his contract is pretty small ($1mil bonus, $1mil salary, $1mil incentives) and it's a short term deal....so if he's terrible, they can always go to Carp or Burnett.

No downside to the signing. But you have to wonder what he's got left if the Dolphins saw fit to release him.

Signing Thomas says something about Ayodele and Carpenter, they might not be living up to their projected spots on the roster. Thomas is solid, but way past his prime and hopefully you guys only took him to be a backup.

OH god don't start the McFadden talk, I have to deal with enough of that on the Cowboys forums. It ain't gonna happen, and even if it did, it would be a TERRIBLE mistake, so just let it go.

As for Thomas...I'm generally happy with the signing. It's short term, and they didn't break the bank....and if he can't cut it as a starter, they are deep enough at the position. At best, he's a nice upgrade over Ayodele and helps out the defense, at worst, they're in the same position as last year.

We don't need McFadden. The Cowboys need to fix that secondary. They give up to many big plays to often. Romo is fine, he is young and still learning. Marion Barber is a stud and I'd love to see him as our feature back. That guy runs HARD. Maybe add a little depth at WR. TO is good, Crayton can be good. Is Terry Glenn coming back next year or is he done for?
