Cowboy Bebop = pretty good movie

You know, I had sworn I had outgrown japanimation years ago after watching my fill of Ranma 1/2 and the like, but I'd heard so much positive praise for CB, and since I have enjoyed recent films like Spirited Away I decided to give it a try.

I'll be damned if it isn't a better action movie than the vast majority of filth Hollywood's cranked out in the past couple years. Yeah, the plot is the cookie-cutter "OMGBADGUY tries to destroy entire world" despite the twists they try to put on it, but the characters are good without being absurdly off the wall like most of the ones in anime. Fight scenes were astounding to boot. Recommended if you want something with action and don't want to put up with whatever crap just made it to video.

yeah movie was pretty good, but series is soooo freakin' amazing. Shinichiro Watanabe is one of my all time favorite directors. Macross Plus and Cowboy Bebop are some of my favorites animes of all time.

movie? Yeah, alright.
But even watching it again and again, Real Folk Blues keeps my eyes glued.
The whole series is amazing. The movie is just a really long episode.
Cowboy Bebop and FLCL > all.

Yes, but it does actually make sense and is internally consistent, which I can't imagine was an easy feat.
...but when you want really good characters and a great story...CB beats anything.

The series is better, the movie is nice though. And spirited away is good! But then this wouldn't be an anime thread if I didn't mention berserk and junni kokki. You can grow out of ranma because it is retarded, but there are somethings that just get better when you are older .
