Maybe because his advertisers cancelled out
Jokersmoker

Bill Maher.

Oh Yeah, I always listened to everything he said. Another Hollywood type who wasnt even saved by being funny because he isnt.

i hear that some sponsors like american express pulled their ads because of this...i think he's an idiot anyways...did anyone watch the one where the japanese was on and was criticizing the woman about telling the joke about jury duty. what an a55!

Anyone that really listened and analyzed what he said would say, no apology necessary. He compared the will and determination of the terrorists to the anemic efforts of the U.S. He was absolutely correct. The terrorists were far more committed to their cause. The cruise missile attack reponses were of virtually no consequence to the terrorist organization. There is a precedent in U.S. history. General Billy Mitchell sacrificed his career in trying to alert the government and the citizens of the impending threat of naval air warfare. That lesson did not sink in until Pearl Harbor. Maher excercises the valuable privilege and is slammed for putting the past and present into perspective. The only error he might of made was not pointing out that the world was not motivated to support the U.S. until 11Sep. :disgust:

I agree with the above, although Maher stated his position poorly (as he often does, and gets himself into trouble.) It should be said that the military was used cowardly (by Clinton.) He cruise missiled a few tents and a pharmacuetical factory that may or may not have been making chem weapons, and then swept the issue of terrorism aside. This only steeled the (fanatical) islamic world against us.

More importantly, the US citizenry had been acting cowardly, or better said beginly negligent. We have come to expect that we should only fight if none of our soldiers get killed, and when one does we demand that they be withdrawn, (see invasion of Sudan) and we have too quickly forgotten the previous attacks against us.

We have needed to take the issue of terrorism more seriously, and demanded more action. We got so upset about one soldier being killed and desecrated in Sudan, that we tied Clintons hands when it came to action against bin Laden, so he had no choice but the cowardly route. We should have been this pissed last time we were bombed by him (our embassies in Africa are American soil) and really went after him last time, instead we turned him into a hero and inspiration to Islamic fanatics (the guy who could attack America and get away with it)

I hope we will have more resolve and dilagence when our forces move into Afgan. and we start seeing our men shot-up and bloodied on CNN (which will happen.) We must realize that this is the soldiers job, he knows it, and these are the sacrifices which must be made to ensure peace and freedom for the rest of us!

That fscking son of a b|tch. They should ship him out to the Gulf, strap his ass to a Mark 84, and drop him down on Kabul -- THAT'S not cowardly!

And then there's this dirtbag:

"Although I think Bush has been doing a great job, one of the themes we hear constantly is that the people who did this are cowards," [Dinesh] D'Souza told Maher. "Not true. Look at what they did. First of all, you have a whole bunch of guys who are willing to give their life. None of 'em backed out. All of them slammed themselves into pieces of concrete.

"These are warriors," he added. "And we have to realize that the principles of our way of life are in conflict with people in the world."

Sure, attacking undefended civilian targets is so manly and warrior-like. If they want to act like warriors, maybe they should try to take some on in combat. They'll see what true warriors are when the US military wipes their kind off the face of the earth. I'd love to see some bomb camera pictures when these warriors watch the LGB's drop down on their heads. We'll see how the cowards run like little girls when that happens.

he is garbage.. i have already emailed ABC and Disney and told em can the guy.. He is a POS.
ABC emailed me back an email designed to all whom have bitched to em. THey simply stated it was poor judgement and the show stands for choice of opinion and free speech. I emailed em back and said I will excercise my free speech and never turn on ABC again.... Not that I ever turn ABC on anyhow.

That guy is nothing. A comedian who decided to make fun of politicians - no more. I produce fecal matter with more depth and intelligence than him.

There was no possibility of worldwide cooperation in this matter until the events of 11 September. The U.S. would have had to act unilaterally in an unhospitable sector of the world. Carter tried and lost.
