It seems everytime I hit the gym it's filled with those 5ft 3 inch tall 100 pound women who still manage to wear D cup bras.I do my workout with the sinking feeling that at 5ft 9 125,that it's kinda futile as I'll never, ever look that way.I never see women as tall as me and when I do so a tall woman she's freaking huge,it's discouraging sometimes as it feels like there's no role models to aspire to in terms of build.I come away feeling so big and ungainly.

Anybody else have this problem?

I don't see women of my age and height who have bodies that I admire/aspire to be like.I'm probably like the 2nd tallest woman I've ever seen at my gym and the one who's taller than me is scary looking.

Many of us men find tall women attractive, and not all of us prefer the overstuffed (and/or implanted) chest. Not that you should be setting your ideal body image by what attracts us, but just so you know.

I'm not sure exactly how tall she is (not being stalking type) but I've always found Geena Davis quite appealing, even before I read somewhere that she's a fellow Mensa member.

My point is that I don't see people at the gym who's builds are something I can realistically aspire to.It's nice to see folks further along in pursuing fitness that are somewhat similar in terms of basic body type to oneself, gives you something to strive towards.

Most people would prefer to be tall, but it's important to feel good no matter what your height, it's not like we have a lot of control over it ;) I don't think 5'9" is that gigantic, I myself am 5'8" and I don't feel like I'm towering over people, there are still plently I have to look up to in fact.

When you are a woman and are surrounded by women 5ft 3 and under it tends to make one feel impossibly large:)

I know what you mean, but at your weight you must actually be quite slim, so you are only taller not 'chunkier' than the 5'3"s. If you've lost a lot of weight maybe you are thinking of how you used to look or something.

Actually as a kid,a teenager and an adult I tended to the skinny side of things. I only got heavy following an accident and several years of working 3rd shift, both of which left me prertty depressed.Btw,no matter how hard you work out you can't make yourself shorter or change certain things about your basic body type.It would just be nice to see more women at the gym who could serve as realistic role models to aspire to in terms of physical goals, hell I'm taller, bigger and more defined than a lot of men I see there:Q

On the plus side,You wouldn't want my grocery bill these days,I can do some serious eating and still lose weight:)

You could try a different gym. I have a friend who's 6'1" and really hot.

It's time to start leaving a box a krispy kreme donuts in the ladies change room everyday.

Hey, no worries about your height, eh. Nothing worse than dancing woth a short chick with big ta ta's and getting nipple pokage in the belly button!

Tall chicks rock baby, don't let the short chicks make you feel like you have any short comings.....<rim shot>
