From a small community south of Huntsville, Al:
Lacey's Spring) "Baby the Show Cow" barely budges when her owner tries to move her.
Hear what happened Friday morning, and you understand why.
"Well this morning, I get up to take my dogs to use the bathroom and there's a cow walking down the street," says Tony Hansard.
But that was just the beginning. The heifer soon wanted to walk on water, leading the pool owner screaming holy cow. The cow roamed around Hansard's yard and literally slipped into the pool, ripping the cover just enough to keep the cow's head afloat.
Witnesses say Baby was treading water while they were holding her nose out of the water. While all of this was taking place, the cow owner was at school. The teenager's dad, Terry Williams was at work at Huntsville's Boeing plant.
"I was getting ready to go into a staff meeting when I got this 911 page. All hell breaks loose from there," laughs Williams. By the time he arrived on this utterly ridiculous scene, Baby was out of the pool and running from her rescuers.
Williams says it looked like a scene out of an old movie."There was this ambulance that looked like it was out of ghost busters, lights are flashing, they (volunteer firefighters) were after it."
After leading volunteer firefighters on a two hour chase, the cow's owner, 17 year old Tim Williams, took the reins, leading 'Baby the Show Cow' home.
Williams chuckles about discovering his son's cow's latest talent, "The cow came in third place after I hauled it all over Alabama, but it came in first place in the Lacey's Spring water polo contest."
