I took the J&J shot (May 2021) instead of the other 2 vax options because i predicted there will be a booster requirement a year later for all 3.
Why get 2 shots now if i have to get another next year?

surprised the hell out of me that they were offering boosters just 6 months later.

and apparently, the main vax/booster isnt that effective against the Omnicron variant.
so those that got their 3 shot already will need a 4th one when the Omnicron booster comes out.

Do you think the govt will now mandate a booster to be considered fully vax?

fully vax = allowed to work (fed govt, some state/local govt, some private companies), can eat in restaurants (nyc), can travel (cruise ships), etc

Not getting sick, hospitalized, dead, etc

Look at America's caseload thanks to Delta.

This has not been determined but so what if it is the case. Getting another shot isn't a problem.

Probably sometime next year yeah.

Because the other two options available to you provided superior protection? Unless needles make you piss your pants getting either of the other two would have been a been a better choice. Getting the J&J shot is certainly better than not getting any shot though.

im not in at a risk group (old or immune compromised).
if i get covid after the j&j vax, chances are i wont end up in icu and be on a ventilator.

alot of people i know that got the 2nd shot of one of the other vax got sick as a dog but recovered.

i avoided that by getting the j&j.

and i will be getting at booster at the 1yr anniversary of my shot unless there's a new variant at that time which will make me wait till theres a new booster for it.

Protection after 6 months is reduced for all 3 but lowest for the J&J jab. What is your reasoning for waiting a year to get a booster? Looks like even a second J&J shot gives a significant increase in immune response after 6 months.
