Cover Letter: Help: Potential New Job!!!!!!

I am currently a paralegal and I have a scoop on a new job coming available at a local private university (a well respected one!). The pay is potentially about $12,000 more a year than I'm making now I would be an Administrative Manager. I'm trying to develop a cover letter which will blow their "socks" off and I need some help.

Can you guys help??????

I want them to see that I am really ambitious and that is why I want to leave my current position. I really have no where to go unless my supervisor leaves or gets promoted.

I just need some ideas in what to put in the cover letter. I like what I have, but I need it to be better.

Make it sound as though you have researched the company (university in your situation) by providing details of their operations. Employers see someone that has researched the institution as being really ambitious.

There is (are)some sites on the net that specialize in this,and I cant remeber them.Perhaps if you did a search on google.

Target them:

In the letter, identify some of the issues that are facing them.
Then, tell them how you would solve one of them, and how much $$ they would save. Don't solve their problem completely, but show them that you've:
(a) researched them (the university)
(b) You can save them $$
(c) your unique talents are required in order to accomplish (b)
