Couture returns to UFC, faces Lesnar

Wow. I thought Randy would try and drag this out. I guess since he realized that his acting career would not be what he thought (Direct to DVD Scorpion King 2) then he might as well fight.

I am anything but a Brock Lesnar fan, but how can a guy that big not totally dominate a much smaller, much older Couture? That, and I would feel somewhat insulted if I was Big Nog.

Oh yeah, Lesnar shows he's a class act and big fan of the sport with his comments about Fedor.

courture just embarrasses lesnar. i mean badly. shames the lesnar name. then he fights fedor in a co-promotion event with affliction the night before super bowl sunday. then he fights big nog in a title unification bout. dana -- make it happen cap'n!

i wouldnt say that. Couture was not going to be able to fight outside of UFC.

should be a good fight. hard to say how it will go down. Randy is a great fighter and able to control someone. but not known for his subs and not sure randy will be able to outfight or wrestle him.


BUT randy has far more experiance then Lesnar and may be able to come up with a game plan to win.

i do not think Lesnar should be fighting for the championship though. he is only 2-1. only one of the two wins was against a good fighter.

Yeah, and the only thing he did "better" in his last fight was be a larger guy. His skill was horrible.

edit; though Lesner himself has said that tatoo was a mistake and it didnt come out as he wanted. it was sopposed to be a look like a sword going into his neck and head.

i wouldnt say horrible. he was able to control Hearing and throw a few good knees and punches. though he needs to learn to sotp hitting in the back of the head and kneeing in the back.

lesner has a lot of potantial. he is very strong, very althetic and one of better wrestlers in UFC.

he has the potential to beat randy. i rally not sure how its going to go down. usually i have an idea but really no clue.

Oh, didn't realize lesnar was in UFC, he is the ass who sacked a qb during a scrimmage to try to show off, but then skipped a bunch of a practices and was cut, roflcopter.

well technically he was not cut. he was offered a spot with the Europe NFL team. wich he turned down.

all UFC is looking to do is sell tickets. and this will definitely sell out. im just happy to see randy fight someone, anyone. i know he will come in with an plan and give one hell of a fight.

I definitely would, he didn't even try any grappling moves and his striking was weak. He tackled his opponent and laid on him. With his weight advantage, that was not a hard feat. My first day of grappling class I was able to smother smaller people.

its not just his size he does have some skill in wrestling. But yeah his actual fighting ability is suspect. though when he does punch they are hard. he just needs better control with them.

i don't think randy is going ot have a easy fight. both of there strenghts are about the same.

Brock is going to want to take it to the ground. though Randy has good skill ont he ground so he should be able to scramble to get out. i suspect randy is going to shove brock into teh cage and dirty fight (like he did big tim).

but it should be a good win. then whoever wins this fight faces the winner of mir/nog fight for the unified champ. if brock can win both nobody will complain about him. personally i don't think he should be fighting for the belt now

He most definitely should not be at 1-1 fighting for a championship, but the heavyweight division has run dry for quite a while. If randy was 35 and not 45 then I'd put money on him. But still, the only way I see him losing is if Lesnar lands a lucky cross. I hope Lesnar gets embarrassed, he's bad for the sport.

actually lesner is 2-1 in MMA fights. the first guy he beat was bad though.

i wouldn't say he is bad for the sport. Not worthy for a title fight? yeah but the guy has the potential to dominate. he just needs the time to learn how to fight. his sub defense is terrible, his striking is suspect (though powerful when it lands) and he lacks the ability stop striking illegally.


I don't see lesnar getting embarrassed. he did go 3 rounds with hearing who was one of the top guys. granted he just laid on him and throw some knees (a few illegal ones at that)
