Court Reverses Breakup of Microsoft

still. I'm pleased to see, "Overall, the appeals judges said they agreed "with the District Court that the company behaved anti-competitively ... and that these actions contributed to the maintenance of its monopoly power."

Oh that is SUCH B.S.!! :| Reverse a ruling because the judge "hurt their feelings?" What's up with that? Microsoft has deeeeeeeeeeeeep pockets...that says it all.

Yea, i agree with that bacillus...

The entire breakup thing was a bit over-kill. -IMHO-
MS getting in trouble for misconduct is where this should have gone. Fine them, punish them, whatever, but breaking up the company was kinda scarey...

Heck, whether you like MS or not, that judgement was not a good thing for business.

Thanks for the link...

(NOT trying to start a big debate, but) Yeah, the judge ordered the "breakup" of MS. But into what? Here's what: Microsoft Operating Systems Company Microsoft Software Development Company Microsoft Hardware/Engineering Division. Get the picture? All they were doing is creating separate smaller companies. Kind of like if I open up a "Mom and Pop" computer store and it gets absolutely huge, and I spin off "Mike's Computers" into "Mike's computer hardware store" and "Mikes Software store". Two differennt companies but I STILL OWN BOTH OF THEM. Bah. But where would I be w/o Windows? So, Microsoft is still the man and owns 99% of the business world and home computing business. Uh, Uncle Bill? I need a new Ferrari....
