"Businesses that intentionally facilitate massive piracy should not be able to evade responsibility for their actions," RIAA CEO Hilary Rosen said in a statement.
I guess they should go after computer and computer component manufacturers because without a computer, this type of piracy would not be happening.

They should go after the artists. If people didn't record there'd be nothing to steal.

they better realize its a lost cause. Eventually they will all be based in countries that don't respect US copyrights, or on an offshore location. There is already one of these running just off the east coast, right now handling alot of the online US based gambling sites and many kiddie porn sites. Personally I would rather see that latter bandwidth go to something else, but al long as they is a buck to be made someone will find a way to do it as "legally" as possible.

I don't think the swappers are wrong. In 1993 congress passed the Digital Sharing Act, is it our fault they were so shortsighted with the looming technology on the horizon? So they never expecpted anyone to be able to share an album with 5 million people, but they also told us the income tax was temporary. Accustaions of theft, fraud, and hypocrisy coming from washington is laughable. Does this mean the record companies will get back all the $$$ they "donated" for campaigns in our "free" democracy?
