Just installed this modem, USR Courier V.Everything External Model 3CP3453, over the week-end, replacing a Zoom Dual Modem external. Was not real smooth but expected because it was a bare modem, no installation software to simplify. After completing the installation, I attempted to re-install the Internet Connection Sharing feature within Win98SE with my computer being the primary connection.

Here's the problem. I can logon to my ISP (Earthlink) but cannot seem to connect to the Internet or my mail server. It just logons and sits. Watching the status lights, the modem does not even send data when I try to access a site or mail server.

I removed the Internet Connection feature and normal operation resumed.

Just to state the obvious, I did manually specify the DNS address within the Internet connection configuration TCP/IP settings. Also, deleted the dial up adaptor and forced the system to rebuild another by creating an a new internet connection.

Has anyone experienced this? What am I overlooking?

Thanks!
