Or would I even be able to tell the difference? I have all these parts but need only one system for a HTPC. Very little gaming.

Thanks,
David

I would probalby stick with 1gig of ram @333 over 512mb of ram. 512mb really isn't much these days, windows xp tends to use around 256mb on it's own just sitting idle.

Definately 1GB of 333Mhz over 512MB of 400Mhz. 512MB of ram is enough to comfortably browse the web and do easy desktop related work, however, 512MB is not enough to run the latest applications smoothly.

Chances are, you would not tell the difference between the performance of 333Mhz and 400Mhz memory, even if they were of the same capacity.

Thanks guys, how about the motherboards/cpu combo to go with?? I've been running the NEO2 for a while and just received the ECS.

I had a 3000+ @ 2.3 running on my Neo2 before upgrading to an Opteron. It would definitely oc higher but I needed better cooling solution. I used this for gaming so I am not sure for HTPC.

I've read the sempron's OC even better? Would the L2 cache make a difference? Isn't that the difference between the 2?

CPU speed over cache, i'd go for a nice cheap 754. I did a price check, a 2.4Ghz 754 newcastle costs the same as a venice 2.0Ghz 939, plus the motherboards are cheap as chips. It won't overclock for toffee, and upgrading is not an option, but for a non gaming HTPC it's more than enough.

I already have all of this so I don't have to worry about which to buy for a good price..
