Couple questions regarding re-using old mid tower case in upgrade

I have a Elanvital case, D-5AB or so, would I be able to just replace the power supply, leave the back plate open and re-use the case with a new motherboard? Or is it not that simple?

You shouldn't have a problem with that. You'll get a new back plate with the new motherboard.

Hi, I think you are asking if an ATX Mother board will fit in an AT case. The answer to that is "NO". Jim

The guy has an Abit BH6.. That's an ATX motherboard.

He should be able to use that case with a new board.

Ah the memories. I loved my BH6+C300a (o/c'd at 450mhz 'natch).

Memories indeed, I purchased my bh6 with the 300 Celeron, then moved on to the same bh6 with a slot-t adapter and a 1.3ghz 370 celeron. Now is about time to retire the system.

Those are still good for mundane everyday tasks. I got a C300A@450 running as an FTP server.

The beautiful thing about those is that they are easy to cool and therefore can run very quiet (if you have the right case and PSU of course). Mine is dead silent at 3 feet.
