Couple of ROTK questions.

If Gandolf was this grand whe wizard why didnt he use his staff to create magik like fire, ice, lightning whatever?? He just hit people with it. Also why did the standin king at the city of kings try to burn his son alive?? He knew he was still alive yet tried to burn him anyway. Lastly why didnt the tree imps help and why didnt Sauron come back into physical form and fight rather than gong down as a flaming eye

Gandalf: Beats me. Perhaps he chose not to use that power unless it was absolutely necessary.

Denethor: He was losing it in Return of the King, as I recall. He was already upset because Boromir (his favorite son) was dead, so that probably pushed him over the edge when Faramir looked like he was going to die

Sauron: He didn't have all of his power back because the Ring contained a great portion of his power, including his tie to the physical world. If he had had the Ring back, he could have most likely regained all of his power and manifested himself in physical form again.

Gandalf is basically an "angel" and is limited as to how much power he can use as the wizards are supposed to help Men but not use their full powers (supposed to be wise guides more than anything else). When he faced off against the Balrog, he was able to use his full power.

The wizards are meant to be guides only. If they use too much of their powers, then they risk the people they are guiding becoming dependant on them and themselves being corrupted by the lure of rule.

I think the ents didn't help because it would've taken them FOREVER to get to Minas Tirith. Plus they were busy keeping an eye on Saruman and most likely clearing Isengard from the rest of the orcs that might have survived. Just a guess but likely. 🙂

IIRC when the Ring is destroyed, Sauron is not destroyed, but diminished...i.e. back where he came from or something. Is that correct? Tolkien scholars?

Denethor tried to burn him and his son alive cuz he is psycho. In the book he has a palantir (orb thing) of his own and has been using it to see things, and it corrupts him and makes him cuckoo

Yeah, I think you're right about Sauron. I edited my original post. 😱

So if Sauron is not detroyed with the ring being melted, could he possibly come back. Also, i found it crazy how powerful the dead army was. They literally tooks out 10000000000 orcs in a matter or seconds. Lastly what was Sauron?? Was he an orc, was he human??

I believe he was one of the Maiar, same as Gandalf, but evil, and thus more powerful. Haven't read the Silmarillion in a long while, however.

Sauron is not "dead", but he's basically powerless after the Ring is destroyed. As stated before, his life force and power were tied to the Ring.

Read the Silmarillion if you want to know more about Sauron. From what I gather, he was just a servant of a even more powerful entity (Morgoth) in an earlier Age of Middle-Earth. He wasn't human or an orc.

I wonder if they will ever make a prequil in which we see the battles with Sauron in the 1st and second age when he took different forms

This is along the right lines. Sauron was the highest servant of Morgoth, who was a Vala (God.) In the beginning of the World Morgoth lured Sauron, a Maia (Angel) to him and corrupted him. When Morgoth was overthrown by the Valar Sauron begged for mercy but then he escaped. Then he did lots of stuff like bring the downfall of Men and wage war on Middle-earth until he lost the ring. All of his power is tied to the ring, and while I don't know if you can kill a Maia, he's about as close as you can get to dead without the ring.
