Hi, guys.
I'm wondering whether any of you can give me your recommendation on these questions.
I'm going to build a rig either with air or water. Please note that I'm a totally noob for water cooling.
My other components are followings:
1. Asus p5K deluxe.
2. Lian li PC-6070Bplus II Black/ Antec P182B/ Antec 900.
3. BFG 7950 GT
4. Samsung 226BW.
5. Corsair HX Series CMPSU-520HX 520W Power Supply
6. CRUCIAL BALLISTIX Tracer 2GB KIT
I don't plan to build a SLI system.
The first one is for cpu. I'm debating myself between E6600 vs. Q6600. I have read many overclocking results. It seems like Q6600 would generate a lot of heat, and it would be a difficult job to hit 3.2Ghz mark with air cooling. With water cooling, it would be a daunting task for me to correctly setup everything, but hopefully it can give me better result.
Also, a proper water cooling would cost me around $300.
Again, if I go with E6600 and air, I can go with the tuniq tower and hopefully I can hit 3.4~3.6Ghz (my E6400 hit 3.4Ghz 24 hours orthos stable, which I gave to my academic advisor
).
To make a long stroy short, is there any starter kit for water cooling? I saw from extremesystem.org that EVA2000 could hit 3.6Ghz with corsair nortilus or something. Do you think it could be a decent (I know some of you might argue about this) starter kit for water cooling? I would be really happy if I can hit 3.2Ghz with Q6600. Otherwise, I would be better off by choosing E6600.
Please give me your suggestions so that I can make a good decision here.
Second question is that NB cooling is always required? If I go with air, any recommendation for NB cooling?
Third and the final question is which case I should choose. I have built 5 or 6 machines with Antec, and I still own some of them for my program test. As such, I would like to go with Lian Li this time but I'm not sure whether it has clearance for Tuniq tower. If I choose water cooling, which one would you recommend?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
JJET
