1. would i benefit from switching from 2x512 corsair xms (pc 2700) to 4x512 corsair value ram (pc3200) on a P4 2.8 (533 FSB); i dont overclock

2. would the 4x512 sticks work in my dual channel mobo? I am unsure because of the dual channel stuff.

3.would i benefit from upgrading to a P4 @3.4 with either type of ram from the above (i have a 6800 gt)
* whats the deal with the pentium M's? the socket 478 ones, are they more productive or what?

4. kinda ot but, is the raptor performance that noticable? if i put my os onto it for example, would it boot faster or something? ( i have a WD1200JB now)

thanks alot for your help, Aters rule!

1. Probably, depending how you use your PC. It'll definetly help in BF2 or video editing, anything that uses a lot of RAM.
2. Yes.
3. Probably. Hard to say how much of a performance boost you'd notice, though.
4. Depends on what you're running for a hard drive now. Raptors are quite fast, though, and in RAID 0 they're insane.

1. Well it depends a lot on what you do..it won't run the ram at it's rated speed, but you'll have more of it, and it will be useable for future upgrades

2. Yes, it will still run in dual channel

3. Not with that motherboard..there is no socket 478 3.6ghz P4 but you could go to a 3.4

4. The 74gb or 150gb raptor would have slightly faster boot and load times
