couple of questions

i have a couple of questions on my mind. In many builds i see a raptor 74GB 10,000 and a 7200 200 GB (or other). Why is this? Can't a 74 GB raptor run good by itself? Why the second harddrive?

The second question is about building a pc. When building, after ordering all the necessary parts, are any other cables, etc. needed? How do i know?

3rd. What are refurbished parts? I come across them pretty often and they are cheaper. What about OEM? Should i get OEM or retail?

4th. I want to build a pci-express based system. Should i get MSI Neo4 Ultra or DFI LANPARTY? What is your opinion?

Thanks.

1) Dunno

2) Your mobo will/should come with all the cables you need. Your case will/should come with necessary screws

3) Basically, OEM will come with no box.

4) Dunno

1. backup of OS and data files on drive 1 for when it dies, bulk storage of music, video, pr0n, ...

2. All you need.

3. Refurbished may be missing anything or everything besides the main part: cables, driver disks, bundled games, manual, metal plate for case ("I/O shield) if a motherboard.

4. Dunno. Try a search or Advanced Search to see existing opinions.

Also note the sticky thread at the top of this forum.

I'm pretty sure the reason people have a 10000 and a 7200 is because to most people, 74 gigabytes isn't enough. A refurbished part is something that was once broken and was fixed, and an OEM part is just a part with no box, manual, et cetera.

Also note that at Newegg the refurb parts may include pictures and/or descriptions of the full product sold elsewhere on the site, not what you will actually get!

Just because the motherboard pictures show cables or the I/O shield does not mean you will get them if you buy a refurb -- maybe you will, maybe you won't.
