Couple of questions regarding p4 mbs

1) How much of a difference will it make when Intel moves to dual channel DDR versus current boards? I've read that Intel is planning on releasing a dual channel DDR board at the end of the year or early next year. Will dual channel DDR be able to out-perform rambus boards running at the same fsb?

2) Is there any significant performance gap between the newest chipsets (845G, SiS 648) and the slightly older chips (845D, SiS 645)? In other words, if you were to change from an older chipset to a newer board would you be able to notice the difference?

Thanks.

1) It will make a big difference, and yes it will be much faster than RDRAM 1066.

2) The performance seems to be pretty much the same, just more overclockable (sometimes!). The exception may be the SIS648 which some reports suggest could be faster.

my .02's worth.

I was hoping to see that, I figured it would probably be worth waiting for a dual channel DDR board before upgrading again.
