Couple of intel choices, EE or other?

Getting a new desktop from company, so not on my dime.. Will be a Dell XPS600. Trying to deicide on a processor for it.

Is it even worth adding the 995 Extreme Edition 3.46, +$900

Other options would be:

P4 670 3.8 +$400
PD 950 3.4 +$500

Figure I might as well get the best I can, but been out of the loop for a while. No idea if the Extreme Edition is worth a damn or if either of the other choices would make more sense.

Any help would be appreciated

Well if they are paying for it, I'd go for the EE, since it has HT. Otherwise go for the 950.

What about the Dell Renegade setup?

But seriously I would go with a PD9xx over the P4 6xx.
As for the extreme edition, if you can get the 955 or even the 965 without them asking questions then by all means go for it. Otherwise the 950 is still not a bad choice.

Sounds like.. The extreme edition isn't worth the price increase in general, but if price were equal or you werent paying.. Might as well take the extreme edition.

So unless they tell me to downgrade, might as well throw the EE on there for now.
