So we chose to 'microwave' our cash, over $1000 in twenties in a stack, not spread out on a carasoul. Do you know what exploded on American money?? The right eye of Andrew Jackson on the new twenty, every bill was uniform in it's burning... Isnt that interesting?

Hahaha...those morons. It's not an RFID chip that's burning, it's probably the anticounterfeiting foil strip.

You dont need to wrap your cash in foil, just put it on your head!

EDIT: damn, beaten by tweakmm.

Do the new 20s have multiple strips? Because on my $20 the strip that says "USA TWENTY" is on the left end of the bill and there doesn't apear to be anything in the middle of the bill.

Hmm...I don't know, I haven't seen the new bills. They probably just moved the strip. That's far more likely than an RFID chip I think.

How come I've never had a security gate beep at me? How come this hasn't been in the news? How come that truck stop hadn't had such an occurrence happen previously? Seems to me these people are IDIOTS. Think about contextual clues, not just what ACTUALLY happened.

I'm looking at a new $20 right now and only see one strip on the left side. Someone should try cutting out Andew's eye and see if it still burns.

Stick it in the microwave and see what happens. :D Maybe the ink contains metal or something. The pictures on the site may not be geniune either.

Hey.. that'll give me something amusing to do... put $20 bills in the microwave just to see what happens. I hope it's exciting!

If you take a pair of needle nose pliers, you can yank the strip out of the 20 dollar bill.

Just one question, are RFID chips even small enough now that they could stick them in paper thin money and be undetectable?

Now we have to take all of our bills to the bank and have them replaced, cause they are now 'burnt'.

a bank would do that for them?
A bank has to do that for them.

why? how do they explain the hole?
IIRC I don't think it matters, it's still legal tender but it just needs to be taken out of circulation and that's what banks are supposed to do, take mutiliated money out of circulation.

so you could launder money this way? Also you could take 3 $100's ripped them in such a way that you could make 4 partial $100 bills and request the bank change them for you?

You must have >50% of the bill in order to get a replacement. Banks have devices to check.

yeah you could take 3 bills and come up with 75% of 4 $100 bills.

How would being able to exchange mutilated money help you launder money? It's still cash when they give it back to you. I'm not sure about the last thing though.

Oh, I see. But the serial numbers must match, and they're printed on both the left and right sides of the bills.
