Couple Laptop Questions

Just got a laptop and have some questions...

1. What is a good laptop cooler to buy? I saw a few on newegg, but don't really know which ones are good.

2. Is it very harmful to keep the laptop on 24/7 like a normal pc?

3. If I have a dell, is the only place to get a docking station directly from them?

It depends on how your laptop is set up for cooling. If you have vents on the bottom, then anything that gets a little elevation and improves the airflow to those vents will owrk fine. If the only vents are on the sides/back, then a "laptop cooler" wont really do much for you.

2. Is it very harmful to keep the laptop on 24/7 like a normal pc?

No, the biggest thing you need to watch out for is the LCD. You dont really want that running 24/7, so either folding down the screen, or have windows turn it off after say 10 min of inactivity, or preferably both, is a good idea.

I have a Dell 8600... there is a small fan on the bottom of the top right.
