Couple issues in Firefox

Using Firefox (version 18.0) and have had a couple of issues for a long time. It seems to be blocking a lot of images hosted on Tumblr for some reason. A lot of people host images on tumblr I guess so I run into a lot of things where there should be an image but there isn't. I've checked all my extensions and whitelisted tumblr everywhere i could find a place to do so. I've also tried disabling my extensions and seeing if the images would show up, and they still don't. Dunno what the deal is. If i make a fresh profile for firefox, I can see the images just fine.

The other thing is flash never works on Yahoo or any of the yahoo subsidiary sites. Seems to work everywhere else though. If I make a fresh firefox profile, flash still doesn't work on yahoo, so I guess it's not really a problem with firefox as much as it is adobe flash.

Can you post a couple of links for examples of the blocking on yahoo and tumblr?

I want to test it out.. i don't recall seeing that before.

At least you have narrowed down the problem, good deal. Have you tried removing add-ons?

I am wondering if you blocked something with an add-on like Adblock at one point and it keeps blocking images of that same type.

Well I've tried disabling adblock completely on sites that have problems with images (basically any sites that host some images with 24.media.tumblr.com) and also tried just disabling it completely.

Here's an example of a flash video that won't load (like all videos on yahoo for me) just an endless loop of the circling loading logo.

Kind of a mess. Maybe it's best just to start a new firefox profile from scratch. But I do have lots and lots of history in this firefox profile. Like if I thought of something I saw over a year ago online and wanted to check it out again I'd just start typing out the name of it, or some keywords for it in the URL bar and it would pop up there, which is cool but I can probably start a new profile while keeping my history/bookmarks and stuff easily, so I think that's what i'll do. Yeah, a new profile is your best bet. copy your bookmarks and make a note of your addons and you should be all set!

FWIW the tumblr pic works fine for me but the flash video doesn't load for me either. It says "Connected to b.voicefive.com" in my status bar, and just never finishes loading. Seems to be a problem with that, rather than your browser, unless others can actually get it to load.

I usually don't have an issues with flash on Yahoo though.

It works for me now too. I checked out what Adblock was blocking, and found a yimg site that was being blocked. I disabled that filter, and the video worked. I'm sure I blocked something a long time ago and it fell under the same URL.
