Does anyone know of a website that lists what countries the U.S. gives foreign aid to and how much?

Or maybe you can list them here? TIA

Only the US Congress could have us as a country going into unprecedented debt while continuing to simply give money to everyone in the world.

Out of curiosity, do any countries give us foreign aid outside of things like disaster relief funds for hurricane victims?

To be nice? :p

for kicks?

Plenty of countries give us foreign aid. They are called bribes and they go straight to politicians so we the people don't have to worry about how we would spend such trivial millions ;)

The countries that bribe the politicians are our own country. Healthcare lobbyists, corporations, just to name a few. I'm sure they get more than enough here at home.

Should outlaw those lobbyists, it would be a good start...

No, it will probably turn into a "justification for the military aid afforded to Israel" thread, with one or two posters voicing objections.

Lots of foreign aid came in for Katrina IIRC

Haha, leave it to you guys to complain about foreign aid... expenditures of which amount to about 0.14% of our GDP. You do realize that the US is one of the stingiest countries on foreign aid in the industrialized world, right?

Yea it came in but not that much was actually used sadly:

One of the first countries to offer aid, Cuba offered to send 1,586 doctors and 26 tons of medicine. This aid was rejected by the State Department.

OP BELOW

What did you give $50 million to Ireland for in 2004? The peace process? And why does Spain contain negative numbers all the way across? Spain gives regular aid to the US? What for?

Actually they do, and not just in cash - British aid to the US was valued at 20 young lives last month.

Iran Offered to send humanitarian aid and 20 million barrels (3,200,000 m3) of crude oil.

Wow color me surprised

Additionally, a large portion of the $854 million in aid offered went uncollected, including over $400 million in oil (almost 50%)

I guess that was the 20 million barrels at $40 per.

Well, why not. We give thousands of dollars per capita to each Israeli citizen and they have UHC. That ain't right.
