Counterstrike running badly with Geoforce 2 GTS

I've just installed a new Geoforce 2 GTS.

Tried running Counterstrike with the Realbot addon. With one or two bots running, the graphics look fine. Any more and everything slows down so much the game is unplayable.

I'm running a PIII 500 with 386 meg of RAM. Counterstrike video mode is Direct 3D.

Any ideas ?

Also, how do you know if a game is Direct 3d or Open GL - what should I run Unreal Tournament on ?

By all means run it in OpenGL! Nvidia cards OWN in the OpenGL API, and CS runs on the HL engine which is native to OpenGL :) UT however is Glide native, and D3D runs better than the OpenGL with it.

If you still have problems running CS (you shouldn't cause my GF2 runs CS beautifully :)) first try some different drivers from here, here, or here. I recommend either 7.52s, 12.00s, or 6.50s if you don't like running beta drivers. If it still runs poorly, try some tweaks from here. Good luck

PliotronX is right, run it in OpenGL mode. Last time I reinstalled it I forgot to change it to OpenGl and I suffered a huge performance hit.
