CounterStrike Problem!

i have 450 amd k6-2
64megs ram
diamond 7700 tnt2 card
etc

everytime i try playing halfife (clean install), it freezes and locks. after getting updates, etc, counterstrike, same thing

updated directx, and video drivers, still same problem

formated computer, istalled windows98 and then halflife

same problem

wutcha all think?

is there some kind of amd/video card patch i should be aware of?

mine does the same... CS is lately buggy. Q3A does it for me too.
