Counterstrike OS Question for Win98SE

Right now running win2000 and love it dearly. Except in Half-life/Counterstrike I'll ALT-TAB to check some messages and loose sound. Does this happen in win98se also? I have SB LIVE! sound card. I'm DEFFIANTLY not installing winme!

If it does or doesn't happen what sound card are you using? I also tried ESC out of cs into menu then alt-tab checking messages then alt-tab back resume game and check messages, but still loose it!
 
Yes it does it in all systems. What you have to do is leave, check messages, come back to CS...push ESC, click "Resume Game." Fixed.
 
Hmmmm! i'm using it on Win2k..and When i alt-tab out and then go back in, I don't lose sound. Using a sblive mp3+.
 
so what you are saying is that I ALT-tab while in game, alt-tab back into it push ESC then resume game? I'll try it right now.
 
Yeah, do it just like you normally do, but once you get back in-game and have no sound, press ESC and then click Resume Game.
 
I know I shouldn't open my mouth but here goes. You "alt-tab" to check what mesages? The ones that players send to one another?
