Counterstrike Help

Ok.. I've played a version of this game before, cant remember which one but it was basically terrorists vs. army or whatever.

I want to know what the difference between CS, CS:Source, and all the other CS around. Also how does half life fit in with CS? Is it an add on? Can someone explain this to me please

I don't play many video games, but I've played this once before and had fun, so I wanna know which one I should get.

Terrorists VS Counter-Terrorists

CS (Counter-Strike) is a MOD (MODIFICATION) of Half-Life which means it uses the engine (IE-physics engine). CS: Source (counter-strike: Source) was created for Half-Life 2 becuase the original CS was such a hit and was popular. CS:S uses the Source Engine (Half-Life 2 engine).

If you're planning to buy between CZ (Condition Zero), CS, or CS:S.... CS:S FTW.
(Mind that CZ from STEAM comes with CS and CZ)

Condition Zero is JUST like Counter-Strike except its models and graphics are a bit more advanced
I dont think you get to play Half-Life 2 when you buy CS:S but its hidden in your computer for the engine

You can go to steam and get whatever you want online. Really easy IMO, and much faster. I bought the Silver package which came with HL2, CS:S, and DOD:S

cs is hl1. cz is repackaged cs + bots to make a few more bucks. its "enhanced grahpics" aren't really much, there were 3rd party patches that did more for graphics.

source is the newest and far more advanced. new maps keep coming out, heck today they patched it again through steam with yet another map that supports hdr. they've been adding things to it like maps and model enhancements consistently since release so any reviews are basically obsolete for intance u now see the weapons and items carried on each model. if a player switches to pistol u see their main weapon on their back. source comes with hl2. hl2 doesn't come with cs if u buy it separately i bet
