hi guys...

i was wondering if anybody has this problem that i've been running into... i am running a elsa erazor x card (geforce 256 chipset) with a tbird 900, 256 mbs, abit kt7 raid mboard on winME with various nvidia drivers and elsa drivers and newest directx....

after about 45 minutes or play or so...my fps drops about 10-15 fps...but then the problem is that i start to have this major lagg in the game where my character starts walking around in slow mo, or jumping in slow mo or whatevers... the fps is still up in the 40's at this point...but all the movement is so freakin so and stuff...

anybody else w/ this problem? or a suggestion to solving it?

How can you tell what your fps is in counterstrike. I have been having similar problems lately aswell.

Have you got any programmes running in the background? Have you changed to D3D by accident. Make sure your running OpenGL.

It's strange that it starts to happen after 45 mins or so. Could be a detetiorating line. If you disconnect and then reconnect and join a game does the slow down still exist?

I always use openGL... yeah... its a very strange problem.... when i disconnect at the beginning of this "lagg," and reconnect...everything is okay... but then the next time it starts to "lagg"... it starts at an earlier time.. i also notice that if i continue to play with this "lagg" long enough, and then later quit because its unplayable... i lose all my settings... it gives me a "cant write to config.cfg" error or something rather like that...

Thanks

did you have that prob before the v1.1 patch?

CS ran perfect for me till that patch came out. Now I can't keep it from locking up 5 seconds in to the game unless I use "Software Mode." And that looks like ass! It happens regardless if i'm using D3D or OpenGL.

I'm just using a Creative TNT2 Ultra. Updated to DX8, and the nVidia Detonator 3 drivers and it didn't make a difference.

WTF?!

1.1 has been good to me, but I keep away from every patching the install of CS. Too many times they have botched the patch from one version to the next, so I avoid them like the plague.

So far, no lockups, but I'm running DX7 with Win2k. When/if I ever get a DX8 game, then I'll install DX8. I have a pretty good machine for CS gaming:

1GHz Athlon
GeForce2 GTS
384 Megs of RAM

With this box and my dsl connect, I am usually the first to join the map and keep a pretty high, constant FPS when playing (cl_showfps 1).

If you want fps and more info net_graph 1 will work and net_graph 0 disables it

Vash : Not that it matters, but are you surpassing 99 fps in CS? I cant seem to do it
and I have a Geforce2 GTS, 900@1000 tbird, 256 mg RAM

You might want to try the latest detanator drivers. I'm running WinME with Det 7.58 with directx8. Also, check on OpenGL. Use that. Should be fine.
