Counterstrike demo to avi

Hey does anyone know how to convert a cstrike demo file into an .avi?

What do i need to do somethign like this?

use a video-capture program?

i guess you'd just play the demo and then use screen-capture

but the demo is played in counter-strike.. so would that still work??


Has anyone actually done this before.. because I know there are movies like this out there. I would like anyone that has done this before.

I think they just record a video of whatever is on their screen using some program. Sounds like it would need a powerful computer to get a smooth recording though.

computer video card's RGB out --> digital recorder --> computer

No machine can capture full screen at a decent rate.

There is a software package....hyperionics...that will capture your game play. No..not full screen because of hardware, but you can shrink the view and capture the video and sound. I used this to capture a 12min RTCW demo. I was able to capture it at 320x2xx@15fps, low sound quality and standard, I think, compression. It ended up to be a 155mb file with okay qualilty.

Play around and you might get something better...good luck!
