CounterStrike & CS CZ keeps locking up !!!

Heres my combo:

A64 3000+ 754 (512kb)
Soltek NF3 250gb
Geil Ultra value 2x256
EVGA 6800 Ultra Extreme

I've tried everything...I reinstalled XP Home, Pro, 64-bit about 20 times in all...
I've tried about 10 different Nvidia drivers with all different settings...
I've tried to run the game with Open GL and Direct X under all different settings...
I've tried Direct X 9.0..A-B and C
I've tried 2 different Nvidia Chipset drivers...510's and the Beta 6.14's
I've tried every different bios setting, defaults, disable fastwrites, sdieband addressing ect...
I've tried SP1 and SP2...All updates and then no updates...

Everytime I try to play Counterstrike or Condition Zero I get to the title screen and then the program just locks up, stops responding and I have to bring up the task manger to end task.

The only things I've changed in my system is the board and the chip. Before when I was running the XP 2400-M & my MSI K7N2 Delta-L, everything played fine

Anybpdy know anything else I could try ??

didyou do a fresh install

aka
reformat hard drive, then install everything up to date? (drivers and all)

Yes...Everytime I reinstalled it was a full reformat...

did you change the resolutions, i remember i accidentally left mine on 800x600 and it locked up. once i set it on 1028x780 it worked just fine. on your gfx card you might have to use the max reso.

So this is just a problem with that game specifically?

Never had a problem where the game freezes while it's loading but had an issue where I'd play for 30min and then it freezes.

That was related to CPU heating issues though so you might want to check on your temps jic.
