CounterStrike and Refresh Force

Hey all

I have Windows 2K Pro and I used to use Refresh Force to play CounterStrike at 100FPS. However, when I downloaded 43.45 Detonator drivers for my GeForce3 Ti200, my monitor goes blank and gives me "Out of sync" message everytime I open up CounterStrike. So I restored my settings to default and got rid of Refresh Force and now it works, but the FPS in CS won't go above 60. So I switched back to 41.09 Detonator drivers and it works fine with the Refresh Force.

Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to fix this problem? I liked 43.45 Detonator a little better so I would like to get it working with the Refresh Force.

Thanks everyone!

1. What is Refresh Force?
2. Why do you need your fps to be above 60? If your minimum fps are above 50, you should see perfectly smooth animation.

IMHO, detonator sux.

I had problems often when upgrading drivers, and woud often have to roll back until they came out with stable ones. I found that the "most stable" ones, often are downloaded using Windows Update. It'll even update your new ones back to old ones.

But thats a key reason why I went Radeon, and happy ever since. 😀

Refresh Force for FPS? Wasn't Refresh Force function to enable run any software at any resolution with the BEST refresh monitor (ie vertical refresh) available by your system?

Something like why play a game at 1024x768 with 60Hz when your system (graphics card & monitor) are able to deliver 120Hz for that resolution.

So it seems to me you just have to configure your Refresh Force software to re-colect your available modes ...

Am I missing something?
