My roomate and I both play CS, which hasn't been a problem till now, when we try to play a LAN game as opposed to an Internet game. Something is wrong with his network config, and I don't have the slightest idea what. He can't connect to lan games, but when he creates one, I can see it on my computer even though I can't actually connect it. This is on an HP 8770C with all the crappy preloaded software, don't know much about the hardware. I would appreciate any help though.

yeah, just make sure all protocols are installed, like IPX, and file and printer sharing. of course, i'm not an expert at networking, only what i've fooled with myself. i usually put in the tcp/ip, ipx, net beui, microsoft family logon, and file and printer sharing in the network properties box there, and it works. try that.
