It always defaults on 800x600, when I want it to be 1024 x 768. I get this error when I change it.

c:\valve\steam\steamapps\djmihow\counter-strike source\cstrike\textwindow_temp.html

then when i leave and start the game again, its @ 800 x 600.

I changed my video card from a 4200 to a 9600 XT...

thanks

Stupid linking problems...

Did you use the dxlevel change command?

If so take it out of launch options once you've changed it, otherwise it defaults every time.

you only need to enter the dx level command once , then you can take it out of the command line and it still save's the change , if you dont take it out your resolution will keep reseting

Makes any sense?

open counter-strike change the res than press ok.
press quit ( ~exit, or ended the process is not the correct way)

if that doesnt save it than change you can set the lanch options by right clicking on the icon and changing the target from there if you go thru the steam menu to play cs you can still go to launch options
-h 800 -l 600 example i forgot the actual command maybe its +szx 800 +szy 600 check the interweb :)
