I'm psyched to play the new maps! There is de_dust2, de_rotterdam, thunder, and more! Neo, when you get it, you gotta change the maplist to just the new ones so we can get a good feel for em!

New/Changed CVARS:
mp_playerid
Toggles what information players see in the status bar
0 everyone: players see all names listed in the status bar (with appropriate
team colors)
1 team only: players only see names for their teammates and hostages in the
status bar
2 off: players do not see any names in the status bar (hostages included)
0 is the default

mp_fadetoblack (overrides mp_forcechasecam)
0 nothing
1 player's screen fades to black for the remainder of the round when he dies
(hud still works normally so player can chat and see the scores, etc.)
0 is the default

mp_forcechasecam
0 free to spectate anyone when player dies
1 only allowed to spectate player's own team when player dies
2 not allowed to spectate anyone...player's view stays where the player dies
0 is the default

mp_buytime (float)
Can now designate the desired amount of buy time for each round
min buy time is .5 minutes
no max buy time
Example: mp_buytime 1.8 // 108 seconds of buy time
1.5 min is the default (CS 1.0 buy time)

mp_roundtime (float)
Changed to support partial minutes
min round time is 1 min
max round time is 9 min
Example: mp_roundtime 1.3 // 78 seconds
5 min is the default (CS 1.0 round time)

mp_winlimit
Will cycle the map after one team reaches this many wins
0 is the default (no win limit)

mp_timelimit (float)
Fixed to support 0 (no time limit)
Example: mp_timelimit 17.2 // 17 minutes 12 seconds
0 is the default

allow_spectators
0 Do not allow spectators
1 Allow spectators

Yeah, seriously when 1.1 comes in just leave all the maps on the rotation so we can get a feel for all the changes. Just for a few days...

Great. Just installed my new video card with tweaks (Radeon LE). At least for a bit the playing ground will be even while people learn the terrain. Still I will get my butt kicked. ;)

Who cares?? I played CS from beta 2 and now I've finally tried out Tactical Ops (Unreal Tournament mod) and it kicks CS's ass... it is what CS should be: perfect. Give it a shot... you'll never want to go back to CS.

Boy, I am not with you on this one at all. I still prefer the feel of the HL engine, and generally find CS still rules the roost as to this genre. TacOps is not bad at all, but CS obviously paved the way for it, and it is still my preference.

I only know of a couple of changes, I dont know if anyone has posted a complete list.

Jumping and firing an SMG has been made less accurate.
AWP has no crosshair when zoomed out
Player models have been updated
A bunch of new maps

That's about all I know. Some server issues as well, but I dont know much about that.

Yea, the jumping is kind of silly. People are hopping around like rabbits. I think a &quot;fatigue&quot; factor should be built into your character. That would even the game out more.

I just edited the first post with some info I picked up. I wonder how they changed the old maps like italy, siege, etc.

and with improved acc for smg when jumping....

MP5 is the only way forward. :)

If you go to Counter-Strike.net it will tell you the times and the schedule of the different releases. The release for the MOD version of CS will be 2pm PST on Tuesday, the retail version wont come out until Wednesday. I'm on dialup hehe, hopefully the file wont be too big, ~30 megs or so.
