Counter Strike/Steam troube ***Fixed

I've been unable to stay connected to any counter strike server for more than a few seconds. I get disconnected with an error that reads:

You have been disconnected from the server.
Reason: Error verifying STEAM UserID Ticket(server was
unable to contact the authentication server)

I've tried restarting steam, and logging off(windows) then waiting a few minutes... neither work.

Any help would be appreciated as there is no support from steam... their site just gives you the runaround.

I used the "change user" dialog to log out, then back in and it seems ok.
