When playing CSS I get some stuttering/pause. I can't seem to find the problem. I run the game at 1280x1024 with options set to high (system recommended settings). I've even dropped the res down to 800x600 and lowered the settings. Still had the problem. So I started to disable everything running in the background. Nope, still got the stuttering. Anyone know what I should do next? A couple friends have similar setups with no problems.

Tried most of the fixes. Nothing seems to help....

-Netgear Router
-Sygate Firewall
-Nortons Corp. Antivirus

I've shut everything down and still got the problem. Only thing left is the Router. What router do you have?

I would try bypassing your router and see if that helps the problem.

It's not the router. [EDIT: your PC should be DMZ since you're using a software firewall right?]

Have you tweaked anything in CS? If you have set those settings back to default. Does the video stress test work properly? Otherwise...

- Try disabling sound in the CS options menu.
- Lower ATI hardware acceleration 1 notch in Display Properties.
- Lower your PCI latency to 64.
- Run Driver Cleaner in safe mode and reinstall the latest ATI drivers.
