If you own Counter-Strike: Source, as well as a system based on Intel's Core 2 Duo (Desktop), then you're welcome here. Please, do me a favor. I'm curious, and I'd like to clear out something for myself. I am asking you guys to run the C-S:S's Video Stress Test. But you have to follow specific rules in terms of in-game and driver settings, I will explain.

But first anf foremost, don't run anything in the background that'd be useless for the OS itself. No applications other than Steam. The only allowed application(s) would be Anti-Virus and Software Firewall. However, if you do run an A-V and/or a Firewall, please mention it (we don't want to know which ones you were running, but just if you were running one). Usually it has no impacts on gaming performance, but for the sake of a "clean" benchmark, it'd be preferable to do that (disable/turn them Off).

Important Note: The following Driver Settings are based on ATi's Catalyst options and their names. If you own any of nVidia's products, please use the most similar (or exact same) settings if you know them, whenever possible. In the case there'd be nothing similar, please just ignore the setting in question (of course), or use the "standard" setting.

Driver Settings
Resolution - 1024x768 and/or 1280x960 (it's your choice to run a benchmark for both resolutions, if not, select one)
Textures - High Quality (or in nVidia's case, the equivalent of it)
MipMap - High Quality (or in nVidia's case, the equivalent of it)
Anti-Aliasing - Application Controlled - Activate Adaptive A-A (or in nVidia's case, Transparency A-A I believe)
Anisotropic-Filtering - Application Controlled - Activate High-Quality A-F (or in nVidia's case, the best it can do with A-F if possible)
Catalyst AI - Standard (or in nVidia's case, anything similar to "optimizations" without sacrificing performance, if possible)
Geometry Instancing - Enable (or in nVidia's case, anything similar, if not, to ignore)

In-Game Settings
! Don't forget to click on "Apply" each time you change a setting, or after you changed all of them !
Set everything at their highest settings (High), including Water.
HDR Lightning - Irrelevant (leave it at any settings, preferably Off/None, since the Stress Test doesn't feature HDR I believe)
Anti-Aliasing 6x
Anisotropic-Filtering 16x

Alright, if you followed the required settings, then proceed with the Stress Test.

Please, run it twice ! The second test is usually just a little faster (sometimes one or two frames-per-second) because your HDD has information/data in its buffer from the first test. Take the result from the second test only !

Then just please post your results in a similar format to: Resolution(s) used = Result(s)

Don't forget, you MUST use a system based on Core 2 Duo ! Also, if your system's specifications are not shown in your signature, or if they aren't your "main" or C2D system's specs, then please let us know what you're using !

I myself will post my own benchmark results soon by editing the post later.

Thanks for your time guys, and thanks for contributing to my humble testing if you do, much appreciated.

It looks like you dont have a C2D system in ur sig... and why dont you open this up for other processers? Have an AMD single core, AMD dual core, P4 Presshot, P4 Northwood, AXP, etc etc.

I will be building up my C2D system tomorrow if all goes as planned. It was supposed to be for today, but it won't.

I am just curious. I knew someone would ask why just C2D's ... I guess people can't just comply.
