Counter-Strike sound problem

I have a slight problem in CS. When I hit escape during a game and go to the server list and then come back into the game I was in(or any game for that matter) I have no sound. Should I just reinstall it? Or is there something else screwy?

i've had the similar problem when i alt-tab out of the game and alt tab back and the sound was gone.. the way to get your sound back is keeping on exiting menus until you hear the sound come back.. or restart the game..

Its a bug in the game. I always run in windowed mode now and no longer have this problem.

How do you run CS in windowed mode?
